"Successful" Church Planting
Sat, 2010-07-17 14:27 — Joseph BaylyWhat does it mean to successfully plant a church? If you build a church of 200 people, is that success? If it becomes financially self-sustaining, is that success? If you have your own building, is that success? If you accomplish all three of those things, but it takes 10 years, is that failure?
Confession of a Custodian Part 2
Fri, 2010-07-16 14:18 — Nathan AlbersonSome men like work. They like their brow to be damp with sweat. I prefer a dryer, more sweat-free approach to my brow. Thus, the first lesson God taught me through custodial work was to actually do custodial work.

Thu, 2010-06-10 23:13 — Joseph BaylyIt seems like every single week I hear somebody talking about the discipline of children and mentioning in the same breath one of the following:
- Child Protective Services (CPS)
- Child Abuse
- Hitting
- Fear
Just today I heard that Riley Children's Hospital here in Indianapolis has signs up stating that the entire hospital is a "No Hit Zone". They are big banner signs, small tripod signs, and everything in between. Apparently they have been up since at least November. Here is an example:

Christianity and Yoga
Fri, 2010-06-04 11:17 — Joseph BaylyIs it possible to worship God while practicing Yoga? This is a very practical question, as Yoga is extremely popular in America today. As it becomes more mainstream, Christians are beginning to take part in ever-increasing numbers. To many brothers and sisters in Christ, then, this might even be a silly question, akin to asking, “Is it possible to worship God while exercising?” The assumption here is that Yoga is simply an exercise regime. It is not.
The Sacred Swoon
Thu, 2010-06-03 14:45 — Stephen BakerThere is a lot being said these days about the feminization of the Church. It’s an objective fact that there are more women in churches than men. This cuts across all denominations, liberal and conservative, Protestant and Roman Catholic. Overwhelmingly, the Church has become the realm of women.
